Mr. and Mrs. Speer | Jackson, Ms Wedding Photographers

Last week Tami and I had the opportunity to hang out with a really fun couple.  Katie is a registered nurse at one of the local hospitals and in case you didn’t know, Joco Foto has a huge heart for all the great work nurses do each and every day.  This is our 5th registered nurse to photograph this year alone!  Although I just met Josh on the wedding day, I felt like we were instant friends since both he and I share a love for the fine art of sarcasm.  Other than the scorching heat of the day, I felt we were very lucky since huricane Isaac had literally came through the day before! The wedding was beautiful and ended with some really awesome fireworks right before they drove off in a classic Mustang.  Hope you two have fun on your honeymoon and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day.

Mr. and Mrs. Williams | Jackson MS Wedding Photographers

Earlier this month Stephen and I had the pleasure of photographing Lauren and Sonny’s wedding. After having such a great time during their engagement session (even with three large dogs dragging poor Lauren around) we knew the wedding would be just as much fun! These two have been together for so long that as soon as the cake was cut they were ready to let loose and enjoy the fact that they were now husband and wife! Their reception was definitely a blast! We hope you guys had a great time on your honeymoon! Congratulations and thank you for letting us be a part of your day!

Sonny even did a little “Tebowing” for us…Sonny and Lauren opted not to see each other prior to the ceremony, but we were able to get this sweet moment of them sharing some last minute thoughts before the ceremony…We always love it when our couples leave in awesome old cars. This one was especially awesome as it was the same car Sonny’s parents left their wedding in several years ago…

One…

On this date one year ago, God entrusted us with the most precious and wild spirited little boy, Isaac. He was in such a rush to join our family that the doctor almost didn’t make it in time to deliver him and he hasn’t slowed down yet! Within twelve short months he has gone from an average 7lbs. 15oz. to a whopping 27lbs and has had many milestones along the way!

Around March our lives got much busier then they already were as Isaac became mobile. Along with his new found crawling ability, he also became our human vacuum cleaner! No bug in his path was safe! I have had to really step up my cleaning efforts with him around!

Despite every effort on my part to have his first word be mama, he said dada when he was six months old which made his daddy extremely happy. Shortly after that, when I would say mama and he would shake his head no and say “dada” and giggle.

He finally cut a few teeth around seven months old and was most excited when we began introducing real foods after his nine month check up. He was so excited that he didn’t want to wait on us to introduce some foods! He learned to pull up and after that Henry’s lunch was never safe! We have found him many times under the kitchen table enjoying any leftovers he can find!

These past couple of months he has been pulling up and walking while holding on to things and here recently he has gained a little confidence and started to let go to take a few steps. His favorite part of his new trick is that everyone claps for him. He loves it so much that he now claps for himself constantly.

Isaac’s name means “he laughs” and I am pretty sure that is the perfect name for him! He is always laughing at something. He has brought so much joy to our family. I can’t even imagine our lives before he arrived. Henry told me when Isaac was born that Stephen and I were the boss, he was the apple and Isaac was the sauce. He was absolutely right. Our family just wouldn’t have been complete without the sauce!

This past year has certainly been a busy one and I can’t believe it has flown by so fast. However, a part me feels like Isaac has been in our family forever. He is definitely my little wild man. Always climbing on something or getting in to whatever he can reach, but I wouldn’t trade him for anything in world! I can’t wait to see what the next year holds! Happy First Birthday, little man!

Wanda Bennett - His Dr. didn’t make it! A Dr. in the hall heard them and came in just in time to catch him. She didn’t have time to prepare, she caught him with no gloves or scrubs on.

Two Weddings in One Day| Meridian, MS Wedding Photographer

On July 14, 2012, the whole town of Meridian, MS was bustling with news of a unique wedding taking place that evening. Two sisters and two grooms. We, with the help of our great friends, Adam+Alli Photography, had the honor of photographing the wonderful event. I can no longer say that I have never been at a wedding where there was a line waiting to get in an hour prior to the ceremony!

Rachel and Robert had been engaged for a while and waiting for Rachel to graduate before their big day. When Laura Anne and Chris got engaged, mom jokingly suggested a double wedding. The girls weren’t going for it! Later at an MSU game, the girls brought up the idea to their friends and much to their surprise their friends thought it was an awesome idea. After some thought Rachel and Laura Anne decided to share their wedding day. To make the story even better, Rachel and Laura Anne have an older sister who celebrated her fifth anniversary on the girls’ wedding day!

Rachel and Laura Anne were both gorgeous brides and their grooms were equally as handsome. I loved that even though they were having a double ceremony, they each had their own individual personalities in so many of the details.  It was truly a beautiful day and we are so thankful we were asked to be a part.

If you happened to be looking for family or friends in Meridian, MS on July 14th, look no further. I’m sure they were partying with rest of us! I kid you not about how many guests attended Rachel and Laura Anne’s weddings.Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Westbrook and Mr. and Mrs. Cox! We wish you the best and thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your special day!

Lakeside Proposal | Jackson Ms Engagement Photography

A few weeks ago we had so much fun hanging out with this beautiful and energetic couple.  Morgan Proposed to Tasha by a lake which we had to incorporate in pictures, but I had the most fun when we got to the more urban pictures.  So much fun, that the time got away from us and we ended the engagement session close to 10 pm!  You two rock and I hope you like the sneaks.  We can’t wait for your wedding next year.  Thank you for choosing us as your Mississippi wedding photographers.
